Bio

Justine is an American urban singer-songwriter that is known for delivering quality. She graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a concentration in Songwriting. Urged to attend Berklee through being awarded both the Berklee Entering Scholarship Tour and the World Scholarship Tour, she certainly did not disappoint upon her arrival in Boston. She quickly became involved in the Berklee community and became known for her passionate and go-getter personality. She was involved in many activities from hosting a corner on the live Berklee Internet Radio Show "Anything Else", doing numerous live shows alongside local acts such as Kevin So, Matt Margallo, Vudoo Soul, jamming with band "Xtacy Xport," collaborating in over fifty student projects in two years; amazingly she still managed to make Dean's List.

Word began to spread. Not only were students and professors at Berklee noticing Justine's drive and energy, but others also began supporting Justine's efforts. Having lived in Chicago; Seoul, Korea; Greenville, South Carolina; Washington, DC; Boston and the New York area, Justine’s personal life has been just as interesting and diverse as the musical influences she has garnered from those places bringing her music to another level of intimacy. She began to receive attention in many of the surrounding locales and people began envisioning Justine as the next "Ne-Yo," "Alicia Keys," or "Keri Hilson."

“Her portfolio CD of several works...display a creative and interesting approach to using the technology to achieve her goals. She sounds great! I was very impressed with her skill level as she is a very talented arranger...

In my opinion, she cannot fail...”

—Stephen MacLean, Assistant Professor, Music Synthesis Dept, Berklee College of Music

Justine soon became highly esteemed by those in every aspect of the music industry. Singing from a young age, she has over eight years of vocal experience in the studio. She is not a stranger to writing and producing songs and directing the vocals of other talents. Grammy-studded engineers and award-winning producers attest she is a quickly emerging singer/songwriter to work with. She has received kudos from players that have backed famous acts such as Aretha Frankin, Usher, Prince, Erykah Badu, and the Roots. Major and Independent record labels are preparing to release material that has been written or collaborated on by Justine. International publishers (including Sony/ ATV and Universal Music Group Publishing ) are eager to develop relationships and negotiate publishing deals with her.

This interest has gained international momentum as word of Justine reached overseas to Korean record labels such as YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and CJ Entertainment. Not only is she able to write songs in Korean due to her Korean heritage, she can produce and direct vocals in Korean as well. Justine is diverse in her talents and has also has worked on a variety of commercial projects including children's songs, educational children's audio books, and jingles. Also, film and television may just be around the corner, as she has perked the on-going interest of composers that contract primarily in audio/visual work for networks and film companies.

As more interest grows, join the movement! Please add yourself to the mailing list. Spread the word and look for updates in the events page of the website to follow Justine's progress.
